Grace Partakers, I am beginning my personal testimony with this life-changing and empowering Scripture from the Gospel of John: “And of His fullness, we have all received, And Grace for Grace” (1:16). As I continue with my new birth experience with Christ in this message, I will expound on the importance of this Scripture. I am originally from Youngstown, Ohio and I grew up in church until I was ten years old. I was introduced to Jesus at an early age; however, I did not accept Christ into my heart until I was thirty-eight years old. When I found myself incarcerated in DeKalb County jail, I cried out to God and something changed in me. I was not led to the Lord by a preacher or a concerned family member or friend. I was led to repent and surrender to Jesus by way of the Holy Spirit. As a result, my life changed divinely. After I received Jesus as my Lord and Savior, I greatly desired to submit myself to these following Words from Jesus to become a disciple: “FOLLOW ME” (Lk. 5:27). During my walk with Christ over the past eleven years, the Holy Spirit has opened my eyes to a whole new world; “God is Spirit, and those who worship Him must worship in spirit and truth” (John 4: 24). As I moved from one prison to the next, I noticed that everywhere I was housed, God used me to preach and teach the gospel to others. In addition, I realized that the gifts I possessed were magnified due to serving God and witnessing to others according to the power of the Name of Jesus. I have witnessed many inexplicable things as one of God’s many children which is why I do not entertain skeptics. The word of God is transformative, life-giving and offers all sinners a means of propitiation to receive the free gift of Eternal Life. Before my rebirth, I was under the control of Satan’s influence; on the other hand, I now walk in the power of the Holy Spirit. Consequently, God gave me a vision back in DeKalb County Jail in 2013. This vision has manifested into a prison ministry: Grace for Grace Prison Ministries(GGPM). From prison, God allows His children who are incarcerated to spread the gospel, encourage one another, and witness the glory of God as sinners turn their lives over to Jesus. “WE MOVIN BY THE POWER OF REVELATION!!!”

My life is consumed with ministry. From prison, I am a spiritual leader for my wife, family, and friends. I am cofounder and the architect—after Jesus—of the GGPM News Letters. I have served God as an usher, preacher, teacher, counselor and many more offices since my rebirth. I trust God that we as His children live abundant lives in Christ Jesus. I am excited about my transition out of Philips State Prison and the Department of Corrections. I look forward to serving Jesus and others physically outside the confines of prison walls. Finally, I want to end my testimony where we began: “And of His fullness, we have all received, and Grace 4 Grace” (John 1:16). Growing up I was an exceptionally quiet kid which to me seemed like an ideal temperament for a child. Silence is often in conjunction with submission which resulted in being taken advantage of as a child. The screams were silent the confusion was the loud part. Unfortunately, due to this confusion I became overly sexual to myself and to others. I often questioned my sexual orientation even though I knew that I liked women. The experience also affected normal social cues which opened up the opportunity to get bullied frequently reminding me daily that there was something wrong with me. Solitude was my best friend I didn’t want to bother my mother and my father wasn’t present. So I would self harm and beat myself up until I couldn’t take it anymore. I attempted to commit suicide a few times in an arrangement of different ways that were unsuccessful. I felt even after the attempts that I was a failure for not being able to have control over my own life literally. Everyday was a reminder that I couldn’t even properly kill myself which is a harsh belief but a strong one nonetheless. When I was 18 I found companionship with God I became immersed in church and believing in that higher power other than myself allowed me to get out of a hole to deep to get out without a helping hand. I began to see life in a different lens slowly but surely and started thinking of life as living instead of dying. I lived life intentionally and was able to finish college when my 13 year old self was so sure I would die before I was 18. Everyday isn’t easy but I’m glad I’m here everyday and love life immensely everyday is a blessing.
